Steve Bohannon, MD FACEP, Medical Director

Dr. Bohannon has been a resident of Volusia County for almost 30 years. He grew up in Texas, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University, and Medical Degree from the University of Texas at Houston. He moved to Port Orange in 1983, to complete a 3 year residency at Halifax Hospital. Upon his completion, he was offered a position at Halifax ER/Trauma Center, and worked as an Emergency Physician there for 30 years. As a staff physician there, he treated major medical and trauma patients. He was also the Medical Director of Emergency Medical Services for the Daytona International Speedway for over 10 years. He also staffs an emergency room in Maine, and has previously staffed ERs in a ski resort in Colorado, the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Montana, Sturgis South Dakota during Bike Week, and in Oklahoma and Kentucky.

“Dr. B” has a passion for travel as you might surmise, and enjoys mountain climbing and outdoor activities. He has climbed the highest peaks of Africa and South America. “It gets me out of the Florida heat.” He has 3 children, the youngest is an avid fisherman, and the two can often be found offshore. He also enjoys riding road bikes (bicycles) for fitness. He is actively involved in organized medicine, trying to halt the steady encroachment of government and insurance companies into the practice of medicine.

Dr. Bohannon is past President of the Volusia County Medical Society and a previous Delegate to the Florida Medical Association. He is also a certified medical examiner by the Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Erin Maxwell Sloan, PA-C

Erin Maxwell Sloan, PA-C was born in Philadelphia and raised in Southern New Jersey. Erin completed her undergraduate studies at Philadelphia University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Science. Erin also majored in Biochemistry/Physician Assistant Studies and earned her degree as a Physician Assistant in 1999. Erin moved to Florida just outside the Daytona Beach area right after graduation, and worked in various emergency departments in the area since 1999. In February 2010, Erin opened the company’s flagship clinic in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Three years later, she opened Ormond Beach Urgent care in Ormond Beach, Florida.

Erin is board certified and holds an active Florida license. She is also a certified medical examiner through the Department of Transportation. When not taking care of patients, Erin enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and boating.

Trenika Miles, Practice Manager

A Volusia County native, Trenika Miles attended Keiser University for her Associate of Arts and Health Administration degrees, then she obtained her B.A.S degree in Supervision & Management at Daytona State. Before joining our team, Trenika was an office manager, appeals counselor, and patient care technician for the majority of her career. Besides the love she has for our staff and patients, Trenika thrives knowing she was a part of the process to help our patients feel better. When she’s not at the clinic, Trenika loves being with her family, including her two little girls, and taking mini getaways. Trenika’s enthusiasm and passion for patients help us deliver what we hope is outstanding medical care.

Sue Martenson, Billing Manager

Sue hails from the great state of Illinois and serves as our company manager and billing director. She was born and raised in Belvidere, Illinois; however, it was the 18 years living in Wisconsin that converted her to avid Green Bay Packers fan. Sue found herself in Florida after her fiancé accepted a new career opportunity in Central Florida, and has been with New Smyrna Beach Urgent Care, LLC ever since. When we give her time off, which isn’t often, Sue enjoys spending time with her family, reading, spending time outdoors, and a little shopping here and there. Sue has over 13 years of medical billing and customer relations experience.

Tammie Ingham, Front Desk/Billing Assistant

Tammie was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and since moved to South Daytona, Florida to be near family. She is experienced in the medical field for over 20 years. She enjoys music, her grandchildren and the beach.
